Reading Week Rantings

Couple interesting things happened to me today; I was at a LAN part in the morning, drove back with partially-broken glasses around noon, cashed cheques and did work in the afternoon, then caught up with a good friend in the evening. Really, I'd say that's a well-rounded day, but let's go into some specifics, shall we?


Warren Ellis twittered me today. Instant smile on my face, and made me appreciate Twitter for what it is; a way for people to get responses to questions and quippings with little time investment from their favourite creators. I've got a lot of comics writers on my Twitter and it's fun to see what makes them tick. Warren's pretty much one of the funniest guys on the site, too.

I find it kind of funny that I'm studying Obama speeches (specifically his November President Elect one) at school after three months. Three months. That seems a little odd, doesn't it? I know teachers love to be "relevant," but I have a hard time believing that our professor has studied all facets of this (according to my course reader) four-page speech by now.

Ugh. Whatever. I've been listening to the same song for the past two days because it's mildly inspirational and right now I'm having a bit of self-soubt issues due to a shitload of confidence being placed on me to succeed. But I have to, right? I can't just give up. I can't have let all this work go to waste just because of my feeble mind.

I need booze.
